  6.   People have been asking me two
  7. questions a lot lately:
  8. -  »CL3:Will the Eurochart be released?»
  9. and, when I had answered »CL5:"YES"» to the
  10. first question:
  11. -  »CL3:WHEN will it be released??»
  12. And indeed the first release of the
  13. »CL1:Eurochart» under the »CL9:Depth» label, the
  14. one you are reading now was intended
  15. for »CL7:September» or »CL7:October» release. 
  16. Why not? Are we all just a bunch of
  17. inactive assholes in »CL9:Depth?»
  18. Probably, but I still think we have
  19. been working very hard on this issue,
  20. but then why?
  21. It might seem easy to you to start up
  22. an old legendary diskmag again, but
  23.

  26. We first intended to use the old code
  27. from issue #25 and upwards by
  28. »CL9:Estrup/ex. Static Bytes» who was the
  29. one nice guy who let us take over the
  30. »CL1:Eurochart». But he had a »CL3:HD-Crash», and
  31. so some bits of the code was lost, and
  32. we were unable to put in those bits
  33. again, as the code was sorely lacking
  34. in comments.
  35. So we had to start all over again with
  36. »CL9:Quedax» recoding the whole lot on basis
  37. of »CL9:Pixie/Polka B.»'s design and the old
  38. »CL1:Eurochart», and of course those things
  39. take time, and the code is still
  40. lacking some functions (eg.
  41. search-routine) which the old one
  42. featured. But the new code is still
  43. more system friendly... :)
  44. And of course those functions will be
  45. implemented in »CL5:issue #29».
  46. Then we needed new articles, new
  47. »CL5:votes», new »CL5:votetool», new »CL5:clip-art», new
  48. »CL5:music» and new »CL5:Eurostats», info about
  49. the people on the »CL5:charts» and new
  50. photos for the »CL5:gallery». (»CL8:Excuses,
  51. excuses... Who needs them? We HAVE
  52. been a bit lazy, I'm afraid!! -ed»)
  53. And all in a month or two, which is
  54. simply impossible, as most »CL9:Depth»
  55. members actually have a life... (wow!)

  57. Anyway, this was just an explanation
  58. which hopefully saves us answering the
  59. same two questions over and over again
  60. in the future, and also an advice to
  61. budding mag-editors:
